Trybe — Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Trybe LLC ("Trybe," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects your personal information when you use the Trybe platform ("Platform"). By using Trybe, you agree to the practices described in this Policy.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide Directly
- Account registration data: name, email address, phone number, city, password.
- Trainer profile data: sport, session types, pricing, biography, credentials, and profile photo or video.
- Booking data: session selections, dates, athlete details provided by parents (name, age, sport).
- Payment data: processed through Stripe. Trybe does not store full card numbers.
- Reviews and communications submitted through the Platform.
1.2 Information We Collect Automatically
- Device and browser information (IP address, browser type, operating system).
- Usage data (pages visited, time on site, clicks, referral URLs).
- Cookies and similar tracking technologies (see Section 7).
1.3 Information About Minor Athletes
When a Parent books a session for a minor athlete, the Parent may provide the athlete's name, age, and sport. This information is used solely to facilitate the session and is not used for marketing or shared with third parties beyond the Trainer for the specific booking.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Create and manage your account.
- Facilitate bookings between Parents and Trainers.
- Process payments and send transaction confirmations.
- Send booking confirmations, reminders, and receipts via SMS and email.
- Send platform updates, product announcements, and marketing communications (you may opt out at any time).
- Display Trainer profiles and reviews on the Platform.
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and safety violations.
- Comply with legal obligations.
- Improve the Platform through analytics.
3. Legal Basis for Processing (U.S. Applicable Laws)
- The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) — we do not knowingly collect information directly from children under 13.
- The California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) / CPRA — California residents have specific rights described in Section 8.
- The Electronic Communications Privacy Act (ECPA) — governs our handling of electronic communications.
- CAN-SPAM Act and TCPA — govern our email and SMS marketing communications.
4. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in the following circumstances:
4.1 With Trainers. When a Parent books a session, the Trainer receives the Parent's name, contact information, and the minor athlete's relevant details necessary to conduct the session.
4.2 With Service Providers. We share data with trusted third-party service providers who help us operate the Platform:
- Stripe — payment processing.
- SMS and email delivery providers — booking confirmations and notifications.
- Analytics providers — to understand Platform usage (data is aggregated/anonymized where possible).
- Cloud hosting providers — to store Platform data securely.
All service providers are contractually bound to use your data only to perform services on our behalf and to maintain confidentiality.
4.3 Legal Requirements. We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Trybe, our users, or the public — including mandatory reporting related to child safety.
4.4 Business Transfer. If Trybe is acquired, merged, or sold, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. You will be notified via email or a prominent Platform notice.
5. Data Retention
- Account data: retained while your account is active and for up to 3 years after closure.
- Booking and payment records: retained for 7 years for financial compliance purposes.
- Communications: retained for up to 2 years.
You may request deletion of your data at any time (see Section 6). Some data may be retained longer if required by law.
6. Your Rights and Choices
- Access: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate data.
- Deletion: Request deletion of your personal information, subject to legal retention requirements.
- Opt-Out of Marketing: Unsubscribe from marketing emails via the unsubscribe link in any email, or reply STOP to marketing SMS messages.
- Data Portability: Request your data in a machine-readable format.

7. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
- Keep you logged in to your account.
- Remember your preferences.
- Analyze Platform traffic and usage patterns.
- Serve relevant content.
You may disable cookies through your browser settings. Note that some Platform features may not function properly without cookies.
We do not currently respond to "Do Not Track" browser signals, as no uniform standard exists. We will update this Policy if that changes.
8. California Residents — CCPA/CPRA Rights
- Right to Know: Know what personal information we collect, use, share, or sell.
- Right to Delete: Request deletion of your personal information.
- Right to Correct: Request correction of inaccurate personal information.
- Right to Opt-Out of Sale/Sharing: We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
- Right to Limit Use of Sensitive Personal Information: We only use sensitive information to provide our services.
- Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

9. Children's Privacy — COPPA
Trybe does not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under the age of 13. Account creation is restricted to users 18 and older. Information about minor athletes is provided by the Parent or guardian who books the session, and that information is used solely to facilitate the training session.
If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under 13 without verifiable parental consent, we will take immediate steps to delete that information. To report a concern, contact us at privacy@trybe.co.
10. Data Security
- SSL/TLS encryption for data in transit.
- Secure storage with access controls.
- Payment data handled exclusively by Stripe (PCI-DSS compliant).
- Regular security reviews and updates.
However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security and are not responsible for unauthorized access beyond our reasonable control.
11. Third-Party Links
The Platform may contain links to third-party websites or services (such as Stripe's payment portal). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties. We encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing any information.
12. SMS and Email Communications
- Transactional messages: booking confirmations, receipts, and reminders. These are required for service delivery.
- Marketing messages: Platform updates, trainer spotlights, promotions (only with your opt-in consent).
SMS: Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for assistance. We comply with the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA). Email: All marketing emails include an unsubscribe link in compliance with the CAN-SPAM Act.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or by posting a prominent notice on the Platform. Your continued use of the Platform after the effective date of the updated Policy constitutes your acceptance.
14. Florida Residents — Florida Digital Bill of Rights (FDBR)
- Right to Know: Know what personal data we collect about you, how it is used, and with whom it is shared.
- Right to Correct: Request correction of inaccurate personal data.
- Right to Delete: Request deletion of personal data you have provided to us.
- Right to Data Portability: Obtain a copy of your data in a portable format.
- Right to Opt Out: Opt out of the processing of your personal data for targeted advertising or profiling. Trybe does not sell personal data or use it for targeted advertising.
To exercise your Florida privacy rights, contact us at privacy@trybe.co. We will respond within 45 days. We may extend this period by an additional 45 days when reasonably necessary, with notice to you.
Trybe does not process "sensitive" personal data as defined by the FDBR (biometric data, health data, etc.) in the course of providing its services.
